Comments: Our son runs one farm and we run the home farm at Goughs Bay. Stay in house or separate sleepout. Pick up from Akaroa (25 min) to Goughs Bay. Valley with private beach (seals, penguins, bird life, surfing, swimming & fishing).
Hobbies: Horse riding, multi-sport racing, kayaking, swimming and all sports.

Activities: 2 properties. 4ha block near Christchurch (airport 12 min): specialist tree nursery with hazels, walnuts & heritage fruit trees. 40 ha near Akaroa: cattle grazing farm. Help with general farm and garden work.
Comments: 2 daughters mostly live away working but sometimes home. Stay in separate room in adobe house at Christchurch property. Own transport preferred but can pick up if necessary. Good vegetable garden & local food. Great beaches, many walking tracks & places to explore near Akaroa property.
Hobbies: Bee keeping, gardening, crafts & tramping.
Amberley A C
Activities: Beef farm, trees and a few sheep. Help with light seasonal work, household duties and gardening.
Comments: Visitors stay in house with couple, no children. Candlemaker by trade. Near Waipara wine area, 40 min to Christchurch, 40 min to Hamner Springs Thermal Pools. No vegetarians. Collection from Amberly or Christchurch can be made by arrangement depending on time of week.
Hobbies: Kayaking, gardening, photography, wine, home brew and German Shepard dogs.

Activities: Orchard – cherries, apricots, free range chickens, sheep, cows, bees, ducks, dogs, gardening. Showjumping ponies and horse stud (not for riding) handling young horses and foals. Learn fruit preservation – jams and chutneys also cheese making.
Comments: No children at home, grandchildren visit weekly. Stay in own room in the main house or outbuildings, bathroom shared with other helper. Near tourist and wine areas, beaches & historic house. Amberley nearest village, Christchurch 50km, Hanmer Springs & Kaikoura 1 hr.
Hobbies: Horses, dogs, bush walking, beach & fishing.

Activities: Truffiere, truffles cultivated on oak trees. Help weeding, weed whacking, mowing, fertilizing and pruning. Seasonal jobs.
Comments: Couple, no children with 2 truffle dogs of course! Stay in our house with a bedroom with ensuite bathroom (double bed). For bigger groups traveling together I could organise other accommodation close by. Near wineries, bike trail, amazing walks. Hanmer and Christchurch 1 hr. Quite often there is an extra truck for use as well.
Hobbies: Gardening, trail running, dog training, hunting.

Activities: Appaloosa/miniature horse stud, other stock & animals. Horse experience an advantage & love for animals. Help in garden.

Comments: Helpers live in house, in their own bedroom with ensuite. We live in the foothills close to tramping tracks & bush walks. Mt Hutt ski field access road 15min, lakes & fishing 30min. Nearest town is Methven, can pick up.
Hobbies: include flying, walking, gardening, travel, skiing, rugby.

Activities: Horses, cattle and sometimes sheep. Require help in large gardens and some work around the house.
Comments: Couple with 2 young children. We have two spare bedrooms both with queen beds and their own ensuites. Pick up from Methven if required. Near walking tracks, mountain biking, Mount Hutt ski field.

Activities: High country station - 15000 merino sheep, beef cattle & deer. Help with general farm work (feeding stock, lambing, shearing etc), maintenance (painting, fencing, gardening) and work around the house; depends on time of year. "Have a go" attitude required
Comments: 1 primary aged and 2 teenage children. Self-contained shearers quarters, meals with the family, not usually vegetarian but great high country fare. Ashburton 80km, Mt Somers village 32km (20min), Christchurch 2 hr. Own transport required. Mt Hutt (skiing) 45min & lakes (fishing, swimming etc) minutes away. Tramping, kayaking, hunting, horse riding nearby. Snow in winter, hot sunny summers.

Comments: There are two houses on the property; I occupy one and the other is occupied by Scott & Celine who run a winery on site. You would sleep in their house (private room) but use facilities in mine. We are outgoing professional people with usually other helpers on site working in the winery. Property has stream boundary. Christchurch 20 min, Lincoln 10 min. Cat friendly. Smoke free.

Activities: Sheep & cattle farming, raise calves etc. Looking for a couple to come and farm sit while we go away on holiday. Their main tasks will be to look after the pets and farm dogs. There could also be a number of calves to feed.
Comments: No children are left at home although we do have a variety of pets. We live in a large old house with swimming pool & tennis court. You have your own bedroom. Fairlie is 8km, bottom of the ski field 15 min.

Comments: Situated in flat, rolling and tussockland 8 km from Fairlie. 2 hrs from Christchurch, near 3 great ski fields, rivers and lakes. We have a small business with our self contained cottage. Visitors either live in this cottage if not in use or in sleepout by house. 4 children have all left home but one working with us.

Comments: Husband & wife, often have international students attending school here staying with us for a year. Stay in the house, full accommodation food washing will be done for you. Rangiora 5 min, Christchurch 40 min.
