FARM HELPERS IN NEW ZEALAND    
New Zealand Sheep
SELECTED REGION: National Park, North Island

Kaitieke C&C M
Activities: Sheep, beef, deer and horse breeding hill country farm. Fencing, mustering, weed control, handling of young horses and training, general animal husbandry jobs, house work, gardening, gear maintenance.
Comments: 2 teenage children, one at boarding school. Typical New Zealand farm meals. Near native reserves, native birds, pigs, deer, tramping, canoeing, trout and eel fishing. You will have your own separate bedroom. Seasonal local activities:sports days, polo cross, wood chopping. Prefer that you have your own car. Nearest towns, bus & trains: Taumarunui, Owhango and National Park.
Hobbies: Eventing, Pony Club, pig hunting.
 
National Park B & M F
Activities: Backpacker lodge, cleaning of the lodge, cooking, painting in summer and other projects.
Comments: Inform of special diets in advance. National Park Village 6km, pick-up available from there upon request.
Hobbies: Cooking, working on the lodge, snowboarding, tramping, playing pool.
 
Ohakune D&S A
Activities: Horse trekking & firewood operation. Tasks: firewood, gardening, horse care, trekking, general farm work, maintenance, painting. Visitors need not have skills with horses but this helps. Welcome to ride in spare time.
Comments: Adjoins State Forest park. Great mountain views and walk to National Park. Ski and snowboard. Hosts live onsite part time. Stay with other visitors in basic but cosy chalet accommodation. Sleeping is in 2 caravans which are covered. Hobbies: garden, ski & snowboarding.
Hobbies: Gardening, skiing and snowboarding.
 
Raetihi N&L C
Activities: Large sheep and beef farm. Seasonal farm work: mustering, docking, shearing, animal care and weed control. Main jobs are gardening, painting, maintenance and firewood.
Comments: Stay in a spare bedroom in our home. We enjoy people staying and try to mix work with conversation and good food. People who can handle isolation, physical work/adventure have a great time.
Hobbies: Sport, photography and the arts.
 
Taihape MF
Activities: Spray free hobby farm, experienced helpers only, M or Female. Help with manual weed eradication; home maintenance - cleaning, borer treatment, painting and prep. If experienced: Chain sawing felled trees & wood splitting; shearing, dagging, docking, dren
Comments: No anger issues, moderate/no drinker, smoking outside. Lovely verandah and views! Own flat with bathroom & kitchen. Discuss special conditions if wishing long stay - own transport essential for this. Nearest town Taihape 35km. Near bungy, white water rafting, kayaking, tramping, horse trekking, trout fishing, Mt Ruapehu - snow & tramping. Taihape: cultural groups, movie theatre, library, gym, swimming pool & cafes.
 
Taihape G&S D
Activities: Sheep/beef farm.
Comments: We have 2 teenagers. Stay in sleepout. Near Mt Ruapehu.
 
Taumarunui T&M N
Activities: Steep hill country sheep & beef farm. Help with farm work/stock work, around the house and gardens work/ cooking and cleaning.
Comments: Couple with 2 toddlers, grandparents nearby. Pick up from Taumarunui town 50km (or call and see what we can arrange.). Visitors will have own house with internet, Welcome to have dinner/ lunch with us otherwise, cook yourself, with all foods supplied. On the edge of the Whanganui and Ohura rivers, lots of jet boating, hunting/bush walks/ camping. Taranaki 2 hr so possibilities of going there.
Hobbies: Pig, goat, deer hunting, trout fishing, jet boating, bush walks, horse riding & family activities.
