Travelling with partner and baby

My partner & one year old baby and myself will be travelling around NZ from October onwards. We have NZ residency. I'd really like to get of the cities and work on some farms. Would many farms be interested in a family? Would I need to work longer hours to compensate for the extra costs of feeding & housing a family or would we need to contribute financially?

There are a number of farms who would be interested, mostly those with young children of their own. It is up to the host how to "compensate" for this situation. For many the childminding partner can assist with housework or minding the hosts children. Otherwise I recomend offering a small ammount to compensate. The arrangement should be discussed before arriving and should be win-win.
